About Us

We are a group of ladies who met online at the BabyFit website during 2010.  We were all pregnant with due dates in June 2010.  Our babies have since arrived but we still stay connected through BabyFit and Facebook.  In our attempts to organize our homes we turned to Flylady.net and decided that Menu Planning was an important routine to add to our lives.  This blog is our way of sharing how we do meals in our families and our tried and true recipes that we turn to regularly.  We welcome comments and suggestions on our posts!  Below are descriptions of the families we are cooking for.

I am first a child of God, second a wife and third a mommy to Olivia, born June 2010.  I also work full-time Monday through Friday in a very busy management role.  Putting a meal on the table is very important to me so I am always looking for ways to simplify and make that process more efficient since time is rather limited.  On this blog I will mostly be sharing about meal planning, make ahead meals and related time savers.  My husband's shift at work is different from week to week and sometimes even day to day within a week.  Sometimes he gets home early and may help me or even cook the meal himself and other times he may get home late and expect me to handle dinner before he arrives.  Add a baby to the mix and meal planning and/or preparation can be difficult if not impossible!  I have begun to adapt some of FLYlady's routines and though progress is slow I keep chugging along!    Happy Cooking!  Shannon

I am the mommy to two beautiful daughters. Carissa was born September 2008 which makes her a busy busy busy two year old. Kathryn was born June 2010 and is learning new skills every day it seems. I am a very new SAHM. I used to work part time, but I did most of my work from home. My wonderful husband, David, works in retail until he can land that career job with his degree. The retail world means his weekly schedules are unpredictable. He could open and get off anywhere from 3-6pm, or he could go in anywhere from 12-3 and not get off until 9:30ish. Lucky for us, he works 5 minutes up the road and can come home for a dinner break. We have found what works for us is to have dinner around 6 each night. Most days I juggle preparing dinner with the two girls by myself ... makes for some interesting nights! I am working hard to get on board with FlyLady to get routines in place that help me with my daily juggle of housework and the girls! This is my attempt to make meal time easier for me! Enjoy!
